The clock was around 1 PM, this was Andrea's long lunch break. She had pushed the original time of break due to some update and fixing that had to be done this morning, and thereafter an officer had needed her help to find some information on a criminal who had just been released from prison and was now a new suspect to a case. Something she never would understand was how criminals would continue to do crimes when first been into prison and have served their time. Because when you get out, it's an opportunity to be free and to do almost whatever you want, yet they risk loosing it all for something that was a crime.
Andrea had walked down the streets from the department and headed towards the Grand Lux Café. Earlier this week she had told herself that this day, she'd take her lunch there. She had been there earlier this month, and discovered that their coffee was almost like heaven, and same went for their food. After that day she had been there a few times. Andrea walked into the café and she oculd feel the little atmosphere the moment she walked inside.
The IT-nerd would walk directly to the counter, already knowing what she would order. "Hello! Could I get a coffee? The one with that long name" She said politely and with a chuckle to the lady behind and pointed at the one she wanted to order. The only thing that wa negative, or not as positive as the rest was that Andrea had trouble pronouncing the name of the type of coffee she found as a favorite. It had both chocolate, cream, cinnamon but mostly coffee in it, and she sometimes suspected it to be something else in it as well, yet she could never point her finger at it.
It didn't take long for the woman to make her the coffee. Andrea took noticed off the little bell ringing by the door which meant that people was either entering or exiting the little café. Once the lady behind the counter gave Andrea the cup with coffee she would give her the money she owned in cash. There after she would happily turn around and headed towards the door. Not paying attention to her surroundings at all. NOTES ; ▲Storytelling ▲Speak ▲Thoughts

@noelle and Andrea KellerHey! After a quick look at Noelle, I'm positive that the two have great potential in becoming friends. Andrea is an optimistic soul were there doesn't lack any laughter or jokes. She is also outgoing and enjoy meeting new people. It wouldn't be weird to find her talking to strangers in the park or placing herself beside someone in a café if she's welcomed. I noticed that you wrote that Noelle might enjoy coffee a lot. Maybe the two would have met in a café, for example Andrea walking into her, making Noelle spill her coffee? Slightly cliché maybe, Iknow Please let me know if you have any idea's because I'm quite open for any plots. ^^

When he handed her the first flash drive and told her that he wanted to reopen the old case she was quite suprised, she had believed that the others had said there was nothing else to follow up on. "Ouh I love cracking these little critters." She chuckled and took the drive from his hand. She studied it for a little short moment before she placed it into the USB entrance. "It will probably not take me long to break through.." She assured him and looked up at him as he spoke again, waiting for a window to open. "By the way, I don't think I ever caught your name." She chuckled and waited a second for him to present himself.
"I heard about that case when I came here. If you believe there are something in these drivers, I'll sure find them." Andrea took the second drive and placed it on the desk. She would place her fingers on the keyboard, opening a window for her to type in codes. "Those who had these files clearly seemed to want it to be kept secret." Andrea had the habit of talking while she worked, even if it was to babble or to inform the one seeking her help. It was slightly harder than she had expected it to be, but the results soon came to show. A small crease had formed between her brows when he mentioned that he hadn't anywhere else to go. "Weird, well I'm always up for some work. Unofficial or officially." She said lightly, without moving her eyes of the screen. Some folders with files would start to pop up on the window, probably containing information that were useful for the officer.

Andrea sat at her computer set up. She sat leaned back in her chair, with her coffee mug cupped in her hands as she watched the map over the town. She had just had her lunch break, and now when returned to the IT department, she would have to go through some security checks and maybe do some updates.
The door to the office suddenly opened and a young officer brushed through. Andrea wasn't sure she have had the time to meet him yet. Her eyes would find the huge file he held in his hands and a brow raised as he placed it on the open space on her desk. She also took notice of that his hands were bandaged, it couldn't be comfortable carrying such a huge folder. "Hello, and yes, Andrea sounds like me." She chuckled lightly and sent him a welcoming smile. "What can I help you with? I guess it has something to do with this old elephant right here?" Again, her voice was light and humour was aimed at the huge folder. She would place her mug on the desk and place a hand on the folder, taking in the size of it. Often people would come to her with a small flash drive, it had been a while since someone had laid a folder like the one on her desk.

Griffin Adahy had been in the town for two weeks only. That meant that if he were able to work here, she would no longer be the one who was newest in town. She herself hadn't been here a whole year yet. "Only two weeks!" She commented and rose a brow. "Well, are you enjoying the city so far? When I first arrived it all confused me slightly, even though I've lived in cities before. However just way smaller." Again, Andrea babbled, it was her usual self. In a good mood, her huge curiousness and new people, it was hard to avoid the talking.
The seconds before the chief opened the door were long, and Andrea chose to take a few steps back from the door, just so that she wouldn't stand only inches from the man when he would open the door. Elliot Mackie's voice mumbled something behind the door that Andrea didn't catch before it opened. "Good afternoon sir!" She greeted once he opened then turned to Griffin as the chief asked her who he was. "He was wandering the PD wondering to speak with you concerning a job I believe. I'll let you two discuss that in piece." Andrea politly said and lifted her empty mug meant for coffee. "I'll be fetching myself some coffee and head back to the IT office if anyone wants to find me." She then informed. Waiting a couple of moments, getting Griffin's introduction and letting the chief have the chance to protest or not. "Good luck" Andrea reached out a hand and gently patted his shoulder before she went for the coffee machine. NOTES ▲Storytelling ▲Speak ▲Thoughts

Andrea smiled politely when he said his name, Griffin Adahy. She couldn't think of anyone that she knew that carried the same name. She turned her fram slightly towards him as he offered his hand in a handshake and Andrea extended hers, taking his hand. "Nice to meet you Griffin. I'm Andrea Keller, working at the IT department as mentioned." She replied giving a light chuckle before she brushed a loose curl away from her face. In her class back in college there hadn't been many girls that wanted an education in technology. Back in high school Andrea was often called a nerd due her hobby and qualities, but now, it was a term she used often on herself. And she was proud of it.
"Of course, tag along. Would be an advantage for you, plus company is always interesting." She commented kindly and a smile formed on her lips. Griffin's accent was new to her, she had probably heard something near it before. She herself was originally from California, and had learned to use that accent. However since she moved to north to Boston, and then Chicago, she believed that she had probably lost some of the specific marks of the accent. Something her father had confirmed to her once when they talked on the phone. "Have you been in Chicago for a long time?" Andrea asked curiously before the two would walk.
Andrea had began to walk, Elliot's door was the next stop. She hoped that the chief was free, and his meeting was over, if not she was afraid she would disturb him. Hopefully the reason was more than good enough to forgive her if she did. "By the way, this is the lobby of the department, which you probably already noticed. Most of the informants, officers and detective works." She informed and did a slow spin just to gesture the main area they were in. The trainess did also work here, along with those who had the responsibility for lawyers, reports and journalists and the like. "We in the IT-department have our own office over there." Andrea mentioned and pointed towards the door she had recently appeared out from. "And of course the chief has his own office. Which is here." She finished and stopped outside of the door. The curly haired blonde gently lifted her hand and knocked on the door, waiting for someone, hopefully Elliot to answer.

Andrea's mind kept wandering about where he came from, or what his business were. When he spoke up she would listen attentivly as he explained his matters. The IT-tech would nod and change the weight on her feet gently as he finished. "Ah! Great, from Oklahoma? Well you've travelled far then." She commented and rose a brow. The state laid in the middle of the country as far as she knew, she hadn't been there herself, but she imagined the settings and all where quite different from the busy streets of Chicago.
"Well, I am just the IT-tech here in the department, so I wouldn't know a lot about hiring jobs, but I could tell the Chief you've been here, I think Elliot, the chief, is in a meeting, but I'm sure he'd welcome you here after a short interview." She replied to his question and tilted her head slightly before she moved her gaze around. It wasn't Andrea's job to hire other cops, she also didn't work in that field here at the department so she would know less about it. Even though rumours travelled fast around. Madden, one of the detectives had mentioned that they lacked people that could be in the field, which when thinking about it, Andrea already knew.
"What's your name?" Andrea asked meeting his gaze. "It's my break now so I could go now at once to see how long it'll be before he is free." She suggested kindly and gestured towards the door of an office. After a few moment of silence she realised that maybe she had talked a little to much in a short period of time? Hopefully she hadn't scared him. Andrea was just glad to see that new people was eager to join them in the department. New blood, new friends and new connections. Tuesday afternoon, a calm day at work. Andrea had finished most of the updates on the software, and her other IT colleague was sitting in his chair, probably playing his game. As far as she knew they both had been productive and it was now time for her break. With enthusiasm she rose from her chair and picked up her medium sized coffee mug. "I'll take my break now" She told the little overweight man in the chair across the IT-office and gently opened the door, entering the open area, the lobby of the department. Sometimes she wondered how her colleague had gotten his job, or at all kept it.
It seemed like it was a busy day for the officers, it was rush times, wich meant that there could have been car accidents, and or probably plently of speed tickets to write. On her way to the coffee machine her eyes fell on a unfamiliar figure. He looked rather lost, a civilian maybe? She hadn't heard about any new people getting hiered. It didn't take long for Andrea to walk over to him, maybe she could help her.
"Hey there! I'm Andrea. Could I help you? Are you looking for someone maybe?" She asked politely and stopped before the man. He was rather tall compared to herself, and it wasn't often she saw people with the features he had. Andrea raised her free hand and brushed a curl behind her ear while she curiously awaited his answer. She would place her hand back down so that she held her cup neatly between both her hands.
It wasn't often people wandered into the department, unless there where someone special they looked for. For example if one of their closest was taken in, if someone or something was lost, if there was something to report or simply because they worked here. Anyhow, she didn't mind meeting new people, in matter of fact, it was something she enjoyed. NOTES ; Sorry, a little short there. ▲Storytelling ▲Speak ▲Thoughts

At his rather sharp reply to her explanation she would raise her brows and move a hand to her hair. She'd brush a curl behind her ear then she'd straighten slightly on the glasses she wore, as if she was readying herself to reply. This morning she hadn't had time to put on her contacts, "Thank you dead batteries" and because of that she had to priorities to get to her work in time instead of making sure she had her contacts.
"Well sir, the molecules in both thermite and other substances that are known to be used in explosive, release a certain amount of ions and energy. Almost like a kind of radiation. So the satelites that are put up and which now is conected to the cameras that are installed with specific sensors, will be able to detect this radiation." Andrea didn't have a degree in chemistry, so she was a little unsure if she used the right words, yet she believed she would be able to explain the general part. "So when this reach a certain level, when the consentration and volume of the substance is big enough, the satelites will register it and send a signal, the alert, down to this computer" When she had finsihed she looked back at the computer and quickly typed a short code on the keyboard making a map of the city in blueprint pop up. This would be where the alert would come if there where to be any huge amounts of an explosive substance in a small area.
Andrea was hoping she had explained the task well enough for her boss, as well as she hoped he understood. The only thing she hoped wouldn't happen was that he would correct her, it would be like she had failed her exam, and she feared that she'd loose her respect if she had completly failed at the information. Keller did know what she was doing, but she was bad at explaining it to others. She was the kind of person that learned by doing. Generally she loved to help others, just not in her own line of work. ANDREA KELLER
The ships hung in the sky in much the same way that bricks don't.
Andrea had her gaze resting on her boss' expression as she had explained what she was working on. She observed that he might have ahd some trouble to prosess what she had just said. She could understand him, the numbers and commandos on the screen was hard to understand if you had no experience with the work from before. Plus it was hard to explain computers the easy way, so that everyone could understand everything.
When Elliot seemed happy with what she had said, it felt like a stone fell out from her backpack and a small smile formed on the IT's lips. When her chief straigthened himself up again she moved the chair slightly so after where he was moving. Andrea was unsure if she should stand up to, making her feel a little uncomfortable. Maybe it would be polite to stand? But at the same time it might seem as she had a purpose with it. So she decided to sit, but listen to him attentivly and give him attention as he spoke.
His words however surprised her and she rose a brow, and a small gap between her lips formed. Did he really put it on her that they hadn't seen the dynmite? This was illegal before, she couldn't have done it at work, since they wouldn't allow her to hack the satelites due the risk of getting caught. "We will of course set it up here aswell. As you hopefully already knew, this method wasn't allowed before, because we didn't have access to their satelites." She explained herself calmly, looking back at the screen.
"Also dynamite is mostly based on nitroglycerin, other bombs often thermite, and these cameras will be able to spot these elements when I get it fully set." Andrea added to her explanation and looked back at her chief. Andrea could understand his anger, she'd heard from the forensic scientist and other detectives that it had been mostly dynamite that had been used. Andrea found it slighlty funny because there where plently of other, cheaper ways to make bombs that would blow way better if their intention was to hurt people. However this looked more like a way to distract the PD, since no lives got lost.

ANDREA KELLER
The ships hung in the sky in much the same way that bricks don't. Andrea stopped typing for a moment as the current commando she had written was working, and would probably take half a minute to finish. She took advantage of the 30 seconds to grab her mug of coffee. She carefully took a sip, and before she even got to finish a new window popped up on the screen and a small boop-like sound could be heard from the computer. Andrea almost jumped herself because she wasn't prepared for the sound to be on and quickly placed her cup back on the table. The girl titled IT-expert soon began typing again on the keyboard.
She was currently working with the camera systems in the town. By the new permissions (Meaning she had done this without permission before) from her boss and their bosses, she and her team was asked to use the satelites that NASA had sent up years before. In that way they could track heat and other elements (such as thermite) simply by the cameras that where put up around the town.
Without any warnings, a sudden familiar figure stood by over her shoulder. Elliot Mackie, a.k.a THE chief. She jumped lightly and automaticly stopped typing, surely, if she had had the cup of coffee in her hand at this very moment she would have thrown the liquid out of the cup. "Hey Chief!" She greeted and turned her chair lightly around so that she could see him as she spoke. "Well, depends on what you define as useful." Andrea trying to be positive and lighten the moods. Also she quickly glanced by her boss to look at her colleague in the IT-department that was still playing his game, hopefully he was reasonable enough to shut it down now.
"Anyways to answer your question sir. We have almost all the operative systems under control, and I am currenlty working on the satelites, to set them up with cameras in town. We could use the filters there to track elements such as thermite to track bombs." She explained and gestured with her hands as she spoke. Andrea also moved her gaze to the screen every now and then to check on the progress with her program. Hopefully her answer was good enough for the Chief, she did not have much else to report, but if he had any questions she would sure be there to answer them for him.

ANDREA KELLER
The ships hung in the sky in much the same way that bricks don't. Andrea sat by her desk in the IT office. It was mostly where she spent all her days, either there or by the coffee machine. She moved her head to the right to glance over at one of her colleagues, who was currently using his time playing whatever game he had on his screen, it reminded her of the one with the cubes, named minecraft, but it seemed to be another version of the game. Keller turned her attention back to her own screen and opened a new window. Her fingers would wander lightly over the keyboard as she was typing. This was a simple rapport, one of those boring ones, noting any activity (non-activity) on the cameras in the department, if there had been any malfunctions or other problems with the system.
Without moving her eyes from the screen she would reach for her mug of coffee on her right and lift it to her lips. Out of nervousity of the coffee still being to warm she moved her gaze down to the liquid and carefully moved the cup to her mouth to take a sip. Gladly it wasn't to hot and she quickly took a second sip before she placed the drink back on her desk.
The last months had been quite hectic due the previous bombings, the one at the harbor, and the one in their own building. The bomb had ruined a lot of their electric- and computersystems. However when such tragedies happens, positive things come out from them. One being a whole new set of computers and operative systems that were up to date and gave more options for her and others to work on. Yet, it was all still in progress, seeing as it took time to deliver all the parts and get all the orders correct.
