friends. Maxim has done a splendid job of splitting his professional life and his personal life. While he has colleagues at the school, he has made sure that his past has been hidden, and he does not easily befriend people from his professional side of life. On the other had, his "night job" requires him to have contacts and friends - often mere acquaintances will do, but Maxim isn't in the business of being caught. Once he trusts somebody, they have his trust.
enemies. A past bidder who lost out? An angry client? A student who got a D in his ENG-101 class? There are plenty of possibilities here, though Maxim does a pretty good job of keeping everybody satisfied.
romantic interests. Maxim has been too busy with his professional life to sustain a relationship, he's had a number of small, convenient relationships, but nothing concrete... nobody he'd ever bring home to his mother.
lovers. None at the moment.

I thought Maxim and Brann could meet in some sort of literature club of some sorts and get a discussion started between them? I'm up for any suggestions ( I want to use this thread to shine light upon the more intellectual side of my char so anything related to that can help).

Elliot Mackie + @maxim Welcome to Chicago, meet the Chief of Police. He's kind of an asshole. Don't worry, he doesn't bite. Well, not hard. Elliot graduated from UC, but that was over twenty years ago, and he's got about a decade on Maxim's age. Since Maxim seems to be a shady criminals type, we'll have to build from there, because Elliot doesn't like to fuck around and he'll pretty much just barge in anywhere guns blazing to try and keep the criminal population under his thumb. But the PD is pretty preoccupied with trying to rebuild itself after it got, y'know, fucking bombed. And Elliot's really pissed and stressed about it. With that, do you have any ideas how these two might come to interact?

Michael Mattingly & Maxim Kulakov
So Mattingly works at a bar that is well known to the Plebs. People can crash there while they are on the run, buy weapons and equipment, or just hangout and play darts. It has become the place to go before and after performing less than legal activities. So if Maxim needs contacts or gear, he can find them at Lightfoot's Sleazy Bar. And if he goes there he would likely know Michael Mattingly. Hopefully they would b friends but considering Mikey used to be a pretty notorious Enforcer they might also be rivals.
