RUIN REGINALD "All the scars on my body, They won't keep me far from love" It was all over the news, the supposed bombing in the city that had killed one but the other gravely injured. For some sleepless days, Ruin had grew interested in this story and began to delve into it to see what or rather who it was caused by. His assumptions were solely set on the Bianchi family, a possible sign? A threat?
Ruin had done some minor hacking into local journalists logs, gathering information that had been left out from the T.V and papers mainly to see if it had any link with who had delivered the bomb and who supplied it; reasons why specifically these two people and what they had to do with anything. This was followed with Ruin hacking into their own information from social media to their work placements, trying to find out connections.
From what Ruin discovered, the both of them did come from major companies with wealthy backgrounds, a couple that had long in the past been involved with the Mafia even if it was just by loans and investments and finally what happened from there with their relationships to the present date. His printer had never stopped all day and night and with all these papers that were organised into sections (names, relationships, companies, etc.) and that could also be burned once his assumptions became clearer.
Ruin felt this wasn't something he should keep to himself but also something he should discuss with the other members, yet. Ryan was probably the best person to discuss his theories with and to get a second opinion on whether the Bianchi's could of been apart of the recent attack even though it wasn't directed to Enigma; or could of been. With all the files stacked up, Ruin locked his computer and got out of his seat with the files in his arms, making his way over to where Ryan's office was.
When he was outdoors, Ruin rose his free fist and gently knocked against the door, awaiting a reply if Ryan was in today. Ruin hadn't spoken to Ryan a lot other than acquaintances and back when Ruin was hired, from there it was silence and letting the hacker get on with what he does best and what he was hired for in the first place for Enigma. Ruin did not do all this work for praise but for the sole reason Ruin joined Enigma in the first place; society.
Ruin waited now, waiting until Ryan was able to reply and let him in so he could go on explaining his assumptions, his theories.

Big Bang Boom Some days, Ryan was brutally reminded that he had to run an actual criminal organization, he was overdramatic and ambitious, but he was not stupid, not everything could be solved by screaming curses, as much as he tried, some things needed more finesse to be deal with, some people needed a more diplomatic approach, and some dealings required mountains of paperwork. That last one was exactly what Ryan had just finished, after a few hours and aided by more alcohol than most would think was appropriate he had finished what work he had today, and now he was enjoying the brief free moment by lounging on his office, practically melting into his chair, feet up his desk in what looked like a not very comfortable position, but it surprisingly was.
It was mostly quiet, sometimes he heard movement from outside his office, people passing by and muffled voices, but so far, no one had come inside to disturb him, and Ryan wondered how long this false peace would last. There was always something happening that needed his immediate attention, a plan that needed to be set in motion, information the needed to reach his ears, problems that needed to be solved, Ryan this, Ryan that, it was often quite chaotic. It was true he had Ruby to help him around as his right hand, but there were still thing that could only to be resolved by him. It was nice to be able to sit back for a few minutes.
A few minutes passed, and Ryan grew bored of doing nothing, he removed his feet from the table and got up, deciding now should be a good moment to go around the warehouse and talk with a few of his people, see what they were up to or if anyone had decided to blow the place apart again, the usual stuff. Before he could open the door, however, there was soft knock, and curious as to who would have such a light tap, he opened the door quickly, since he was quite close to it already, and to his surprise Ruin was standing there. Ryan didn’t remember a single instance the man had approached him on his own volition since he was hired “Ruin!” He said in greeting, voice booming loudly, since more often than not he forgot his inside voice. “What brings you to my office?” He said with a friendly smile, making a gesture so the other man would enter. He eyed the files and papers the other was carrying and silently wished it wasn’t more paperwork, but something that would be actually interesting. Considering Ruin was his hacker, there was a very good chance that was exactly the case.

RUIN REGINALD "All the scars on my body, They won't keep me far from love" To the large greeting at the door, Ruin felt as though he was about to collapse backwards, the files nearly falling out of his arms that he quickly clutched to his torso. Ryan was such a loud and booming man in comparison to the more fragile man; in no offence, if anything, Ruin admired him for his positivity especially as a leader.
"S-Sir." He replied in greeting, eyeing him for a moment before noting his gesture and making his way inside. Not entirely sure what to do, the man stood in the room a distance from the desk with the files still clutched to his chest. Towards his question, Ruin paused for a moment, glancing finally at the files in his hand, staring at them momentarily.
"I have something that I'm not sure is vital to Enigma... I've been suspicious of it, but I wanted a second opinion." And with a second opinion, he wanted someone he could trust even in the slightest and that was Ryan more than anybody else though he had only met barely a couple of people in the time of being there.
He finally built the courage to take a couple more steps, placing the thick file onto the back of his desk where he stood, spinning it around with the palm of his hand so it would be readable from Ryan's view if he made his way round. "I've been looking into the small bombing that happened quite recently and a part of me... thinks that possibly the Bianchi have something to do with it?" He suggested, already feeling embarrassed to the fact that even if it was, it was probably nothing for them to be concerned about and a waste of time.
"I looked into the two victims and they have been associated with the Mafia before, many, many years ago, back when the law were too fearful to do anything to the family..." He stated and went on, "It seems there is a speck in that line of work that soon the Bianchi came into view... I just- wanted your opinion and if we should be concerned? If it may be a threat after Enigma's past moves? I- I hope it's not a waste of time..." He stuttered, wary that the much larger man may have thought different.
The last thing Ruin wanted to do within Enigma - especially to Ryan - was to lose his respect and the idea that he may be doubted for his skill if he were to pick at little things that had happened and make them into a big deal over nothing; again- a waste of time. Ruin probably was more than that but it seemed his nerves to prove himself in Enigma and ensure that he wasn't "useless" was a big deal to the skittish man; especially for what he believed in... a better world.

Big Bang Boom The hacker was so skittish, just Ryan speaking normally was enough to make him fumble with all the files in his hand. Granted that normal Ryan was unnecessarily loud, but still, the leader was a friendly person, especially with his family, there was no need to act so scared. Ryan would have to make sure Ruin would become more accustomed to his presence, it was unacceptable for a member of the family to feel scared near him. At least he accepted to enter the office with only a minor stutter. “You know, just Ryan is fine, especially in private.” He said to the man after he entered, all these formalities were so stupidly unnecessary, only served to make the boss-employee gap bigger.
Ruin seemed unsure of where to start his explanations, looking at the files briefly before gathering the courage to show them to Ryan. The leader stayed silent, letting the hacker begin his explanation in his own time. The files were placed on the desk, and Ryan sat down again to take a good look at what Ruin had found, listening attentively to what the man had to say. He hadn’t heard about any bombings, it was usually him who liked to explode things, and lately Enigma hadn’t targeted anything or anyone. The Bianchi, on the other hand, seemed to be taking a liking for explosions lately, if his suspicion about the PD bombing were to be believed.
He let his eyes travel quickly through the file, Ruin had been pretty through in his research, but that was to be expected. For what he gathered, it wasn’t some a bomb with fire and explosions, but more like a trap full of blades that had a minor explosion as consequence. He listened in silence as Ruin explained everything, only humming curiously to himself as the man finished. “No, no, don’t worry, it’s not a waste of time, it’s always nice to know what the enemy is up to, even if it doesn’t directly affects Enigma for now.” He waved his hand in a ‘don’t worry’ gesture, trying to reassure the nervous man The amount of courage Ruin seem to need to just talk with Ryan, it made him want to scream it was fine, and not to worry, but he suspected that would be counterproductive.
One of the victims died instantly, the woman who survived was badly injured. If they had connections with the Bianchi, it would be very interesting to know what caused this sudden need to eliminate them, and why in such a dramatic fashion if a bullet to the head could be more efficient? A message, perhaps? “I don’t think it’s a threat to us, even if people start pointing fingers at us, there’s not much they can do..” He said after a few moments of looking through the file. “How is this woman now? Do you know if she’s still alive or if she has ties with any known group?” He asked, finally looking at Ruin again. This may not be a threat, but it certainly could be an opportunity. If she hated the Bianchi enough, who know what kind of secrets she would be willing to spill.

RUIN REGINALD "All the scars on my body, They won't keep me far from love" Ruin reminded himself from there to just call him Ryan, at least when they were in his office and in private. With the files settled down however and layered out to his fitting to show Ryan, now it was a case of standing back and hearing his word on it all... which made Ruin nervous but he also reminded himself not to show it.
His wary eyes narrowed up slowly to Ryan as he listened to his opinion on what he had found. He was relieved when he settled his worry about it being a waste of time though Ruin was still unsure if that would be the case later down the line, so he hoped to keep his word and assurance on that. Ruin hummed in agreement when he remarked about keeping up with the enemy's work, knowing himself that it was best to keep ahead of their own games.
Ruin then glanced back at Ryan when he began to mention about Enigma, nodding slowly in somewhat agreement once more when he brought up that it didn't seem a threat towards them. Though now that he began to ask questions, Ruin began to flick through one on the files to find where he had stored the specific information with what he had asked. "I believe I have some information on her... or well both of them and where they came from." He told him, opening up the file onto a print of an old newspaper article, setting it onto the test and pointing at the picture.
The paper looked as if it were an old one, the 70's to be specific. The old picture he pointed at was an old family member of the Bianchi shaking hands with another man who he would explain, a large casino behind them... a grand opening most likely in Vegas. "I couldn't find a lot on them specifically but when I searched into their names to the least, they both worked with one of the families that worked with the Mafia briefly. Mainly with loans and investments." Ruin mentioned, gliding his hand across the paper to specific headings that suggested it.
Obviously the law was a bit fearful to interfere with Mafia-related families back then therefore it was all glory and fame when it came to the papers. "The Bianchi seemed to have somekind of agreement back then with this specific family they worked with... I'm not sure why they suddenly turned sour against them but they may have been screwed over... especially if there is new leaders since I imagine both of these guys are long gone..." He suggested, gesturing to the two men shaking hands once more. Ruin didn't know too much on the history of families but it was certainly something to look into.
Ruin then moved onto something Ryan had mentioned also. "She appears to be alive so far, according to the news and reports. I don't know what the Bianchi are planning or trying to say but I could try and look into it more. I'm not trying to worry or add stress to you but I suppose in my opinion it's best to be ahead of their game just in case they are picking out families and groups one by one... a possible warning in the sense of 'this is what you get if you fuck with us'." He murmured with a small scoff to his final words, seeing their bombing more as a threat to them in the sense of a general threat of their 'power', making it as gruesome as possible to probably try and frighten them.
Ruin then pulled his hands from the files and placed them behind his back, his posture somewhat upright but still quite submissive in the size comparison to Ryan and himself. "Is there... anything you want me to do? Whether it be this or something else?" He asked curiously, unsure whether to put the files aside to burn them and forget about it, save them for a future date or move onto something else all together... whatever Ryan could have had in mind otherwise.

Big Bang Boom A sneer appeared on Ryan’s face when Ruin showed him the old newspaper article. The Bianchi family held power in this city for so long, it was no wonder the rotted touch of those white rats were so deeply embedded into the city, and also reaching outside Chicago as well, as the picture implied. Ryan couldn’t wait to run them off here and take their place. The point right now, however, was that the Bianchi was cutting ties with a family that apparently was an old ally, that was good, let them slowly shed away their connections, make themselves weak with the habit of getting rid of entire groups, Ryan would only watch delighted, and hopefully pick up the discarded pieces.
It was possible Ruin was right, he didn’t make a habit of keeping up with Bianchi gossip, but he heard something or other about the heiress of the family recently inheriting the family business. Under new management, it could mean there were changes, and everyone knew people don’t usually like changes. He nodded in silent, letting Ruin explain his findings before carefully thinking on what to say. “So an old ally that cut ties rather violently recently, I wonder what happened…” it would be a hard thing to find, it would not be something the Bianchi would want to divulge. “That is actually good news for us, it means they are losing ground, allies. An investor here, a supporter there, it may not look like much, but if they are losing people, it means their power getting smaller. Now if only we could take these allies to ourselves…” It would not only benefit Enigma with resources and information but it would only be adding salt to the wound, make them mad Enigma was taking their toys. Ryan was a leader who viewed the benefits of certain decisions, but he was also incredibly petty.
The good news was, as Ruin discovered, that the woman had survived and was in no danger of dying. Well, from the injuries at least, he would bet the Bianchi wouldn’t be happy to know there were survivors. The man’s words had merit though, a warning to anyone who tried to mess with the most powerful family in town, after Enigma had kicked them in the figurative junk with the bombed harbor, the general respect for them had decreased, it wouldn’t be odd if some small groups tried to take advantage of the chaos, gaining courage to be more daring, upsetting the status quo. “Yes, it could be warning, I thought so too, but I don’t think it’s not directly aimed at us, if they could do something to us there would be no warning, I can tell you that.” He also didn’t believe the family was so ‘afraid’ they would try with cheap scare tactics.
Ryan paced around the office in thought, noting in vague amusement the sort of military posture Ruin had adopted. He definitely should find a way to make the boy more comfortable around him. “You did good, Ruin, in bringing this to my attention.” He said in praise, a heavy hand patting the man briefly on the shoulder to show his appreciation. “I want you to find where is this woman now. I believe this is a perfect moment to pay her a visit, while she recovers of such a tremendous betrayal.” He wasn’t really sure who betrayed who in this situation, of course, but enemy of my enemy and all that. “At best we could recruit her and she would share all sorts of juicy Bianchi secrets.”

RUIN REGINALD "All the scars on my body, They won't keep me far from love" Ruin stared over towards Ryan carefully as he spoke, following his gaze that was staring down at the files he had brought him. Eventually, his gaze fell onto the files too, his hands behind his back with one held at the wrist with his other hand idly. Ruin listened attentively as he got his opinion, his side and views of this minor situation at hand.
When there was a pause, Ruin spoke up himself. "Maybe they will want vengeance? Who knows..." Ruin muttered, still a bit hesitant of fully agreeing with how raw the situation was to go look for Bianchi's lost allies. Maybe down the line they could recruit them, but right now, it was unlikely these lost ties would be so willing to join anybody else's schemes, especially if they are to get their faces blown up just as the pair of them had did with the cursed Bianchi.
Ruin nodded once more to Ryan's explaining of it being a threat to them. Ruin was likely to just be over assuming to imagine that it was a direct threat and he trusted his assurance that it wasn't... hopefully. He hummed in agreement, nodding shortly afterwards, his hands dropping at his side and beginning to idly and a little anxiously pull at his skinny jeans. What now? He thought.
Now that Ryan was on the move with pacing, Ruin turned himself to face his direction, folding his arms to stop himself from looking so obvious though as he praised him of his work, Ruin grew sheepish and it had caught him off-guard. "Uh- I- Erm- T-Thank you, S- Ryan," He murmured, dropping his gaze from the much taller man back to the paperwork on his desk he had left. He felt the heavy hand be placed onto his shoulder which made Ruin cringe a little with such weight but he forced his gaze to meet Ryan's once more as he furthermore explained Engima's next move.
His arms had dropped from his side when Ryan's hand left his shoulder and he had followed his movements once more until they halted so Ruin could speak in return to his proposition. "A visit?" He questioned lightly, his eyes growing with curiosity and slight worry which drew his worries back on what he earlier thought, about the situation being a bit tense to try and recruit. "D-Do you think she would? I only thought... with the situation being so raw, she wouldn't want to or she would be too frightened to, too suspicious," He commented and went on, his eyes scanning along the picture of the Mafia family in the article he had found and memorised. "I imagine they will want revenge against the Bianchi but they could just think it's another trap."
Ruin sighed slightly however and thought himself, folding his arms again and letting one hand rest upon his chin, gently brushing his index's and middle finger's fingers across his moustache in the center; eyes narrowed forward in thought. "I s-suppose I could visit... let the offer be out there for them to consider if she passes it on... but should I go alone? Should I bring somebody?" He asked, pausing his brushing as he glanced back up at Ryan with determined but still-wary eyes; uncertain himself on what to do and what Ryan could prefer. Ruin would do whatever was asked however he wanted to be certain himself first before making any harsh moves, especially so sudden after the recent incident.

Big Bang Boom Vengeance, yes, strike back who hurt them, make them pay. But Ryan more than anyone else knew how hard it was to get payback from someone more powerful than you, layers upon layers of protections and walls you had to go through to just scratch them. A lone woman wouldn’t be able to even get close to any Bianchi, much less do anything resembling vengeance, she would need all the help she could get if that was the case, luckily for her, Ryan was willing to lend a hand to help her get what she wanted, with just of the small price of telling him some Bianchi secrets. He hummed in agreement to Ruin’s words, a smirk forming on his face as ideas passed through his mind.
When talking about their next course of action, Ryan was more ranting to himself, trying to figure out the best route to what they should do, hearing Ruin’s tense words caught him of guard. He shot a thoughtful look at the mustached man. “True, it’s possible she wouldn’t want to get herself involved with anyone right now, maybe she even want to jump off boat and forget anything to do with criminals.” Everyone was suspicious in the crime life, it made sense that the woman who was just betrayed would want to stay away from anyone she didn’t already know, but Ryan still thought it was worth to pursue. “Doesn’t mean we can’t try. And besides, this may be our only chance, who knows what’s the next move by the Bianchi, if it was me, I would want her dead as fast as possible. So if we are to do something, it’s best to do it before anything can happen.” A dead ally was a useless ally, after all.
But Ruin did have a point, they would have to make her trust them, or she wouldn’t even bother to talk to them, much less start spilling secrets. But that was a bridge that could be crossed after they found the woman, they were Enigma, if that wasn’t enough to convince people they weren’t working for the Bianchi, Ryan wasn’t sure what would be. “If she doesn’t want to join us, at least we try to get some information, I’m not saying to fill Enigma with Bianchi rejects, that would be stupid, I’m just saying this can be an opportunity.” Ryan was still quite picky when it came to Enigma members, one or two Bianchi rejects was fine after proving themselves, but if he grabbed any stray Bianchi he found, he was sure it was bound end in backstabbing and betrayals.
Ryan would do the visiting as soon a Ruin found where the woman was exactly, probably a hospital if he had to guess. He was about to inform the man of that course of action when Ruin spoke first, and Ryan was taken back at his words. It hadn’t crossed his mind to send Ruin to this particular mission, as much as he was a great hacker, Ryan knew people skills were not among Ruin’s strengths “I was planning on going myself, you already did your part in finding all this information.” He gestured towards the file, but there was a certain determination on the man’s eyes, perhaps it would be good for him to do this? It was his work after all. “If you want to come, you’re more than welcome, I can understand wanting to see things through. Just give a location and we’ll go” Who knew, maybe it would help instill some courage into the man.

RUIN REGINALD "All the scars on my body, They won't keep me far from love" Ruin had taken all that Ryan said into consideration though it seemed they were coming to a conclusion which was good enough for him. His eyes had finished narrowing over the loose final and looked up at Ryan who was explaining the future moves of this task, nodding slowly to show that he was both listening and understanding.
Lifting his hands, Ruin combed back one of the strands of his hair that had fallen above his brow back to the rest of his hair idly, brushing his hands against his shirt to rid of wax and to then listen furthermore. When it came to the proposition of who was to go, Ruin listened until he finally finished, a bit unsure with what to answer with. Interrogation wasn't really something Ruin was good at, let alone socialising as Ryan probably knew himself, but he wanted to feel useful more than just hacking and building. Ruin wanted to feel useful in the sense of, whether it were a small or large task, he was able to help out as much as he physically could.
"The last I heard... she is still at the hospital. I might need to hack into their database and change some details so that they will let us through and not some strangers... especially with how severe her injures are to just let people stroll in..." Ruin suggested, just hopefully she wouldn't speak out of turn as soon as she saw strangers at her bed and panic her thinking it was someone from the Bianchi to finish her off.
"I will come with you then... only if you want me to. I want to help out anyway I can." Ruin admitted to the larger man, offering him a firm nod as he began to shuffle the files and paperwork together to take back to his office in the meanwhile unless he wanted it back again. Until then, he took the file into his hands and stood within his office, gazing up at him with a small but serious frown as if he looked so focused. "Is there... anything else you want me to do? Regarding this or anything else?" He asked curiously, wondering what else Ruin could do to fill time until they left together or anything else popped up in the matter. Either way, Ruin was prepared and ready.

Big Bang Boom The hospital, that was to be expected if her injuries were so bad as they looked, the hospital had a certain security to it, but Ryan was confident they could sneak past it to get to the woman, he’s heard Ruby had done the same before, and with Ruin’s hacking skills, it shouldn’t be too hard to add their names to the allowed visits, the problem though, would be to make sure the woman didn’t start screaming as soon as she saw two strangers in her room. “You do that, tell me as soon as we’re able to go. We should go when she’s awake, avoid startling her too bad, and hopefully she’ll listen before calling security.” It was very possible this mission would fail due to how much the woman was willing to listen, but again, Ryan wouldn’t know until he tried.
He was glad Ruin accepted to come with him, Ryan honestly thought it was good for the man to go into field missions once in a while, but he wasn’t stupid enough to put the man into something dangerous that needed combat skills. If the worst came to happen, and some sort of fight broke at the hospital, he was confident he could manage to get them both away before anything too serious happened, but again, the chances of that happening were slim to none. “It’s settled then, we’re both going, I’m sure you’ll do fine.” He answered with a nod, reassurances coming naturally to him.
Obviously they wouldn’t go immediately, Ruin still had to prepare a few things, and Ryan really wanted to read those files more carefully, he thought briefly about the man’s questions, before shaking his head. “Nothing else right now, do what you have to do to get us into the hospital with no problems.” He extended his hand towards the files that Ruin apparently wanted to take with him. “Will you need those? I wanted to look at them more carefully.” He would allow Ruin to take the files if the man really needed them, but hopefully the man was just being himself and making sure he wasn’t being a bother in leaving his papers around.

RUIN REGINALD "All the scars on my body, They won't keep me far from love" To the instructions that were given to Ruin, he nod firmly now that he knew what he had to do. He stayed quiet for the time being, plotting a list in his mind mentally to write down later to scheduled things down and start doing whatever was needing to be done. He was feeling quite confident for the mission but getting the woman to listen was probably the biggest concern he had... for whether she would be willing to listen to the 'enemies' of the Bianchi or not. Hopefully she wanted revenge, for what they did to her poor face and friend.
To the image of the woman's condition, Ruin was actually beginning to feel rather flustered inside. He did not even know her and probably in the past her little 'gang' she was associated with probably had plans against Enigma if they were involved with the Bianchi, but even Ruin believed sometimes some people in the worse of groups and crimes did not deserve what they were given in comparison to the next person; somebody who did. A deep sigh escaped Ruin to his guilt towards the woman they were to see yet Ruin furthermore listed to Ryan and what else he had in mind.
Now that it was settled, Ruin gave another nod and was just about to leave his leader's office all until his further words stopped him in his tracks, shuffling the files underneath his arm to prevent from dropping them. "Uh..." He murmured out, glancing at the files he brought to both his hands. "No no, you can have them. I just wasn't so sure if you wanted them or not in your office. I have no use for them now... so go right ahead." He reassured, approaching his desk again to neatly set them down ontop before moving himself away and giving Ryan a final stare; a small smile touching his lips from under his moustache.
"I'll be off then and start planning. Hopefully I'll be done by the end of the week... I'll keep you posted." He murmured to Ryan, tugging at the end of his shirt to straighten it out as he began to make his way to the door, opening it and slithering his way half through before uttering his farewells. "Thank you and I'll speak to you later, Ryan..." He thanked gratefully, leaving the office and Ryan and peace after closing the door behind him and beginning to make his way to his own room to begin planning and plotting for the future mission. He was ready.
