| Max wanted to train Max for a PD dog? What a waste. But not actually. The training could be awfully useful, just that it was poorly applied - in the wrong field she meant. Why not make a great bodyguard and a good killing partner out of the dog? Well, it was Max's dog now. If he wanted to use the pup's potential like that, his choice. Ruby secretly planned to teach lil' Maxi a few things too, whenever she was asked to dogsit or just when Max was not watching. "Pets are never useless." It was true, they made a great "person" to talk to and observing an animal's behaviour was fascinating as much as observing your victim's pleading attempts. Huh..Maybe Ruby did think like a cat sometimes..
Red watched as Max gave his star to Jacob, smilling at how they seemed to get along so well..all three did, she realised. PD, Bianchi and Enigma, under the same roof, gifting stuff, later on eating cake - it sounded ridiculous. Yet it was far from being a lie. Should she go back to feeling the two were her enemies? It was almost impossible to do so. Plus, not having to keep a gun pointed at them while just greeting each other was way better.
In Ruby's experience, birthdays were days of expressing your gratitude for the fact that you were not dead yet. She recieved funny gifts in her past, their meaning being to cheer you up and give you a positive attitude to get through another year. Max and Jacob were...on the emotional side with birthdays it seemed. She should conform to that for the next birthday they'll celebrate; which luckily was Jacob's.
She couldnt help but feel a bit mocked because of that cat related book, but it was a good mocking sentiment, not the embarrassed, or angered type. She was just glad that each and every one of them had the same humor. Their jokes were the best. "Wait that's not fair, how will I continue spreading mischief around if you read about all my secrets??" The blonde gaped her mouth in an expectant, not approving way, tilting her hands questiongly; all that just to play around.
The woman watched in curiosity and mild confusion as Max got lost in thought at the sight of that book. Ruby could name by now a few things that helped develop the current Madden, but she still knew very little of 'Alice in Wonderland's ' inpact on his life, or more like, the ties between the person, the book, and his family. There was more to find out about Max. Pierce looked as confused, and she gave a small shrug from one shoulder, unsure of what had happened, deep down in Max's mind.
The cop seemed very touched by that book's presence, and soon there was a hug for Jacob, Max's thanks followed, and she looked at his expression once he turned to her, very attentive, not willing to leave out clues like that. She did not get enough time to subtly annalyse him, and gave him a smile and a nod, moving her hand between his shoulderblades to pat him a few times, as if to let him know that whatever it was that made him silent, it was ok to stop hidding it.
"So who wants cake? Cyanide-less..cake.." Ruby pressed her hands together in a silent clap whenever the silence would fill in, and inhaled deeply before speaking, trying to build up some courage to not fall into any sort of reminiscing mood. The second sentence came a bit stuttered, as if she was reasurring the men that her words were true, but regretted even bringing it up. The blank expression used for that got replaced with a small smirk- default expression.

But only once a year
[attr="class","petit"] [break] [attr="class","petitcontent"] [attr="class","petitcontentstyle"] [attr="class","petitfirstletter"]T He looked at the two who seemed to disagree with his choice for the pup. Well Ruby didn't openly say she disagreed but he could just see it on her face that she wasn't quite approving. "But if I make him a PD dog he'll be able to come to work with me, not fear gunshots, smell drugs and keep you two out of my house." he smiled jokingly at the last part. Of course the puppy was cute and he didn't want to make it some sort of terrifying killing machine. He just wanted to have a companion strong enough to be able to take him around his jobs without fear of watching the dog die. "Don't worry, I won't let the PD brainwash him. I'm the one doing the training for him mostly. That's how you create a pair in a dog/cop team. The cop learns for the dog and the dog listens to his cop." he tried to explain how the PD dog training went. As he learned to be a cop he went through learning to work with dogs, but was never actually paired with one. It might actually save him a lot of time and effort to have a dog able to detect some things like drugs, weapons and hidden people. Jacob and Ruby just gave Max a friend, but also a work partner. [break][break] He chuckled, seeing such a different face from Jacob, a caring one, one that didn't seem to be hidden behind any masks. He was loving it, of course it made him happy. His cheeks muscles were already hurting from smiling so much in a very short time span. "Well if that makes you feel any better, I do appreciate." he wanted to ask him to just stay happy himself, but that would require precising that he shouldn't be murder happy, so Madden just didn't add anything about that. Seeing the ones he cared about happy, that was what made him happy very easily. No need for gifts or anything that was directed to him, a simple smile was enough, and these two were giving him plenty so far. [break][break] Ah the nagging at Ruby's superiority over him. Always there and strangely it often came out of Jacob's mouth, the one who always complained about it. He rose a brow at the man before shooting a look at Ruby. Was there a way he could prove him wrong right now? Probably not without having another failing plan in his hands. "Well_" he was interrupted by the pup jumping onto his stomach, showing how he had both plushed toys in its mouth. "Never mind, you're probably right again. But you're not better, you keep being right about everything about me. It needs to stop." he teasingly pointed a finger at the man and rubbed the pup's head before trying to take the plushes away from him. On the other hand Ruby was being pretty calm, just smiling in her corner. Max noted it, wondering what, precisely made her smile that way. [break][break] "If I know about all of your secrets then you can't do anymore mischief around me and you'll just have to get more creative to make me do anything." wink at Jacob's previous sayings about Ruby able to control him. He doubted the cat book will truly help him on that specific note, but perhaps it will help him on another more specific note: His fear of cats. People say that understanding your fear could help you get through it. Though this book was a joke, not an actual book on how to know if a cat wants to murder you. Now that he thought about it this book pretty much explained his phobia in one title. [break][break] Of course his reaction to the book was making both Ruby and Jacob confused. He had to give them some sort of explanation, even though he felt it hard to get anything out right now. The rub he received in his back from Ruby was perhaps the only push he needed to be able to take down his own wall and give away his wonderland. He clenched his teeth once looking down at the floor, wetting his lips before complying and speaking. He still held the book in his hands, running his fingers across the cover. "I used to read this to my sister. Her name's Alice. Haven't seen her in...15 years? It might be more I don't remember. She was the only person in the world I ever cared about more than my own life. And this book..." he raised the book, a choked smile at the edge of his lips. "It was our running away plan, from our duties and our messed up rich family." he didn't know if anything he said made any sense to the two, but to him in was all he could say without getting too emotional. And by too emotional it meant by shutting down here and now to cry in their arms or the floor. "That's why I call you bunny_" he pointed at Jacob "And you queen of hearts, cat. Even though Harley fits best." he forced out a smile. He didn't want to let his feelings hit him too hard right now. Not today, not now that they were here possibly changing his habit of birthday celebrating forever. [break][break] Cake? Yes cake sounded like a great idea but what was that joke about the Cyanide? A bad joke if they asked Max. He squinted at Ruby, smiling more easily now. He rose a brow and asked in a playful tone "Ruby, did you try to put Cyanide in my birthday cake? What did I do to you this time? Was it all the cat jokes? You can't stand it anymore is that it?"[break][break] [newclass=".petitheader"]background-image:url('http://i64.tinypic.com/30bfkwo.jpg');width:520px;height:250px;background-position:right;[/newclass] [newclass=".petitfirstletter"]float:left;background-color:transparent;border:1px solid #324956; padding-top:10px;padding-bottom:10px;padding-left:15px;padding-right:15px;text-align:center;color:#324956;width:5px;font-family:'source sans pro';font-size:13px;margin-right:4px;[/newclass] [newclass=".petit"]width:420px;background-position:center;padding:50px;background-color:#f7f7f7;[/newclass] [newclass=".petittitle"]font-family:'quicksand';color:#fff;letter-spacing:2px;font-size:30px;text-align:center;text-transform:uppercase;padding-top:70px;[/newclass] [newclass=".petitsub"]font-family:'source sans pro';color:#fff;font-style:normal;font-size:12px;text-align:center;width:210px;padding:5px;border:1px solid #fff;text-transform:uppercase;letter-spacing:2px;[/newclass] [newclass=".petitcontent"]width:360px;background-color:#fff;float:center;text-align:justify;margin-top:-120px;padding:30px;border-bottom:1px solid #324956;[/newclass] [newclass=".petitcontentstyle"]font-family:'roboto';font-size:11px;color:#222;height:300px;overflow:auto;padding:3px;[/newclass] [newclass=".petitcontentstyle::-webkit-scrollbar"]width:1px;[/newclass][newclass=".petitcontentstyle::-webkit-scrollbar-track"]background-color:#eee;[/newclass][newclass=".petitcontentstyle::-webkit-scrollbar-thumb"]background-color:#324956;[/newclass] [newclass=".petitnotes"]font-family:'quicksand';letter-spacing:1px;color:#324956;font-size:11px;text-transform:uppercase;[/newclass]

Post by Jacob Pierce on Dec 29, 2015 1:25:03 GMT 2
One, two, three Now you're thirty-three As Max explained how the police dogs were trained, Jacob realized it wouldn’t be too bad. It would quite useful, in fact. A loyal pet that wouldn’t be afraid of fighting alongside its master, and would be fierce well trained to attack the enemies, without being actually loyal to the police, it sounded pretty neat. “In that case, I guess it would be a good idea. Though I doubt very much on Max’s ability to keep us out.” He smirked watching the dog play with the plushies. He was pretty sure the puppy would see Jacob and Ruby enough to consider them friends, and as such, wouldn’t attack unless provoked. Everyone else, though, Jacob would like to see it biting someone eventually It would be fun to have little Max around. Particularly, he wouldn’t have a pet at his house, Jacob was not good at keeping living beings alive, and it seemed too much work, but he understood why people had them, a companion for life, always there for you and also a protector in the case of this particular puppy. Today was to be a peace day, they seem to have a lot of those lately, now that he thought about it, made you wonder how long until things went wrong. He would have to enjoy the peace while it lasted, and if that meant grinning with Max and Ruby and enjoying a fun birthday morning, he couldn’t ask for more. It was strange to think that when Max was happy, it also made Jacob happy, that was what care meant, be able to be satisfied with just a smile from the other person. It wasn’t only Max, Ruby as well, she was so excited right now, and also the day before when they baked Max’s cake. No mean actions or hurtful words, just… happy. The cat book was a joke book, it didn’t really teach anything useful for what he saw, but it served its purpose, that is, make Max and Ruby laugh. “The book just means you have to be unpredictable, Ruby. It’s for his benefit, but yours too, You’ll have to learn new tricks” Ruby with new tricks, now that was a scary thought. As if she didn’t already cause enough mischief by just being herself. He was almost afraid the Alice in Wonderland book had ruined the party’s mood. Great job, Jacob, you just made everything horrible without even trying, a natural talent, really. Even with Max reassuring that the book was extremely meaningful, he couldn’t help but think that he went too far, digging memories he would guess Max would like to forget. The cop seemed lost in his thoughts as he told the significance behind the fairy tale, a link to a long lost sister that he still missed, and why he just gave him and Ruby nicknames related to the story. “I though you called me bunny because of that mask…?” He asked hesitantly, unsure on what he could say to lighten the mood, but he could at least say something. Ruby was smarter on how to change the subject, it was a bit early for cake, but the three of them were adults, there was no one to tell them what they could or couldn’t do. Though he would say until his dying breath that cyanide was completely Ruby’s fault. “The cakes is fine, it’s not poisoned, there’s no need to bring up that incident that was totally your fault.” He pointed at Ruby with a small glare. “there’s no need to worry, Max. The cake is safe” or so he hoped.
