words - thoughts Criminals. That word alone inspired some sort of patriotic feeling to the blonde, as if that was some sort of nation, family, someone's roots. But really, the underdogs, the people in the shadows who controlled anything untouched by the light - those people were the best. But with new criminals crawling through the underworld, both Bianchi and Enigma had to be on the look out for trouble. It was not that one criminal, or more, could bring them down - no. The thing was..new faces meant new connections. Be those bad or good, it remained to be seen. Enigma held pride in all the good connections they made with the less "public" people, the shadowy images (or maybe that was just Ruby, considering any contact as priceless) . So when she heard about a new face with dirty hands coming in Chicago, the Righ Hand's interest was captured. No way she was letting the Bianchi get to this guy before Enigma did. Just imagine every criminal being fished by the White Family (the Bianchi) and then they turned those into their own rats, to crawl in the sewage and to bite Enigma's toes. Unacceptable. This guy was particularily easy to find. Ruby noted him down from the first time he had made his way here, in this doomed city, and kept doing her homework on the man's schedule (once she found out he was actually a teacher). Interesting choice for a career, given that you work daily with people (though bratty teens can rarely be named people) and then you just happen to be killing some, for the same purpose - money. This word, "money", stood on the tip of everyone's tongue, and took up most of their thoughts. It was a waste, really, to let yourself be bought like nothing more than an object, or a puppet. Maybe that was just Blackwood's opinion. It remained to be seen. The blonde had contacted this teacher/murder-lover with the intention to meet up with him, and give him a little test. Teachers loved those, didnt they? Ha. Ah, dammit, Ruby felt full of jokes on the guy's job. It will be fun for sure. The man was to recieve a letter, signed anonymously, telling him to drop by the Grand Lux Cafe, where he would meet up with a person willing to offer him a contract. No names, no gang identities, not even the gender of the person was specified. He had also been given an hour to be present at, with no other conditions. It was a public space, coming armed would only be a nice clue for the blonde to form her idea about the man. Waiting for the teacher to arrive at the given spot (that, if he would consider droping by) , Ruby ordered herself a coffee, nothing too fancy, and sat on the stoolchair, a hand around the warm cup and the other tapping bored against the lid, and she would occasionally take a sip out of the coffee, after it was cool enough. |
