---- In the middle -----
--- Of a jelly sandwich ---
As much as deep down he didn’t truly believe Natalie was out to get him, there was still the nagging suspicion Ruby had planted. He trusted his friend’s judgement, and it was so convenient how they kept randomly bumping into each other, that now that Ruby mentioned he couldn’t help but agree. On the other hand, Natalie seemed like a friendly acquaintance, nice to know and he even might exchange favors at some point if she proved herself to be reliable, and if he didn’t discover she wasn’t some sort of creepy stalker who wanted his death. Until he figured that out, though, he’d keep an eye open and a friendly demeanor. Friend or foe? You won’t know until they try to stab you on the back.
He hummed at Ruby’s reasoning, there was a dark undertone to it, like her words meant to poke at Natalie, but he chose to ignored it. “Paranoia is great, it save lives. But if it’s some sort of stocking place for a mask store, maybe I’ll actually pay the place a visit sometime.” There was a certain excited undertone to his words as he silently decided to go regardless if it was with or without anyone alongside him, though he supposed it’d fun to go with someone who was equally as passionate about masks as him.
He shot a quick look to the table Ruby had pointed, making note on his head where he’d find the girls. He hoped the two could keep conversation civil while he went to fetch beverages, he’d hate to be kicked out of the coffee shop because they couldn’t control their hate. With a frown, Jacob discovered there was a line to make an order, the place filling more and more with time, he was glad they had been able to secure a table, but he suspected it’d take a bit for him to make an order.
